Ale Thieves are a spiky alternative collaboration between Moan Red and Nyree Williams. Hailing from the Bahamas and Wales respectively, the duo formed in London in 2024 and are characterised by wit-laden lyrics, an offhand romanticism, and a righteous sense of groove.

 

Both established songwriters, Moan Red’s live track record includes performances at Los Angeles hotspots the Roxy, the Whisky a Go Go, and the original Mean Fiddler venue in North West London where his alternative rock outfit Sheriff opened shows for Sex Pistol Glen Matlock.

 

An emerging artist on the Norwich music scene, Nyree Williams’ 2024 folk ballad ‘Winter Blues’ and her bluesy 2025 single ‘Cherry Blossom’ both aired on BBC Introducing, the latter also found airplay on the Loud Women Radio Show.
